Capture Their Voice.
Keep Their Story.

An Heirloom Portrait is a commissioned audio keepsake of your loved one — their voice and stories, recorded, edited, and made to last.

“My mom told you stories I had never heard before.”

From the creator of Wisdom of Age, a podcast capturing the lives and life lessons from people in our oldest generations. Heirloom Portraits are available through August 2026 (or until spots are full) at an introductory discounted rate. Limited to 4–6 families.

There’s more to their story than you know.

You know your mom as your mom. Your grandfather as your grandfather. But before they were any of those things, they were a kid in a small town. A first-generation immigrant going to school in a new language. A young person who fell in love. Someone who lived through history. Someone with experiences, memories, and perspective.

Someone who, after all their years on this earth, knows a few things for sure.

Find out what those stories are with an Heirloom Portrait.

An Heirloom Portrait is a commissioned audio keepsake of one person — a long-form recorded conversation with your loved one, shaped into a finished audio piece your family can keep, share, and return to.

It uses the same approach behind Wisdom of Age — an award-winning podcast listeners have called “brilliant.” Now, Stacy Raine brings that same approach to the people you love.

Think of it less as a memoir, more as an audio keepsake: something to keep and revisit over and over.

Capture your loved one’s voice, stories, and life lessons in a keepsake audio recording for your whole family.

What is an Heirloom Portrait?

How It Works

 Inquire & confirm

Fill out the inquiry form. We’ll review and respond within 2 business days. If you’re a fit for the beta phase, you’ll receive a consent form for your loved one to sign and a link to book a recording date that works for them.

The recording
(~2 hours)

Your loved one will meet with Stacy Raine one-on-one remotely, so they can stay in their own home. The session usually runs around 2 hours and can be split across two sittings if that’s easier on them. You’ll be responsible for ensuring computer and internet access, as well as recording equipment.

Editing & sound design
(2-3 weeks)

The raw recording is edited for pacing — long pauses, false starts, and stray digressions are removed, but their stories stay. Sound design and music shape it into a finished audio piece.

Receive your Heirloom Portrait

Your finished Heirloom Portrait arrives as a high-quality digital file (approximately 88 minutes). If you’ve added the vinyl keepsake, your record is pressed and shipped to you in 2-3 weeks.

What You Receive

‍ ‍A professionally produced audio recording of your loved one’s voice, stories, and perspective. Specifically:

  • A finished, edited audio recording, approximately 88 minutes (fits a two-record vinyl set).

  • Delivered as a high-quality audio file

  • A simple shareable link for family

  • Optional: pressed onto vinyl as an heirloom keepsake (see below)

A Keepsake You Can Hold

Some heirlooms deserve a shelf, not a hard drive.

For families who want something they can hold, gift, or pass down, your Heirloom Portrait can be pressed onto vinyl — a literal record of one life.

VINYL OPTION DETAILS:
A custom two-record 12" set, with printed sleeves featuring your loved one's name and photo. 88 minutes total. $225 add-on."

Built for listening, display, and gifting.

Our Approach

Heirloom Portrait is built on the same approach behind Wisdom of Age — long-form interviews that draw out the stories most families never get to hear. Questions are structured to move past the familiar roles (mom, dad, grandma, grandpa) into the lives those people actually lived.

The finished recording is your loved one’s voice in their own words. No narration. No retold story. Just the conversation, edited for pacing and shaped with sound design into a finished piece.

Heirloom Portraits are created by Raine Media. Founder Stacy Raine draws from the award-winning Wisdom of Age podcast, a show featuring people from our oldest generations sharing their lives and life lessons. Prior to Raine Media, Stacy worked in storytelling and communications at the Nature Conservancy and National Geographic. She believes connection through story matters — and that the people who came before us have incredible wisdom to share.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Your loved one stays in their own home. We use a high-quality remote recording platform, and walk you through the setup beforehand.

  • That’s normal. You’ll need to help your loved one get set up, but it’s fairly simple, and we’ll walk you through it. You’ll need to help them make sure they have a computer, working internet, headphones (or hearing aids work too!), and if possible, a microphone.

  • About two hours. We can take breaks, and if that’s too much in one sitting we can split it across two sessions.

  • You’ll want to be honest with yourself if this is the right time for your loved one to sit for a Heirloom Portrait. It will require informed consent to have their stories recorded. Certain medical conditions may make that impossible.

  • From recording to delivered Heirloom Portrait: Digital format is 2 weeks. Add 2-3 weeks if you choose the vinyl keepsake.

  • It’s yours. We don’t publish it, share it, or use it in any way without your written permission. Your Heirloom Portrait is private to your family. After 60 days from delivery of your Heirloom Portrait, we delete the session files.

  • Yes. Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, milestone birthdays, and anniversaries are common occasions. We can structure the process so the recording is a surprise, or so the whole family is involved from the start. Tell us on the inquiry form what you have in mind.

  • The introductory offer is for those that want to participate while the Heirloom Portrait is in it’s early stages and the process is being refined. These beta families receive their Heirloom Portrait at a discounted cost — $350 — in exchange for honest feedback and a short testimonial when their recording is complete. After the beta closes, this offering moves to regular pricing of $850
